Positives: Regal Star is a stylish sedan-style cruiser with central steering, making it a popular choice for early and late season getaways. With all areas enclosed except for the aft cockpit, it offers a warm and sheltered cruising experience. The elevated helm provides excellent all-round visibility. Inside, accommodation includes a flexible forward cabin that can be arranged as either a double or twin, along with a convertible dinette double amidships. Bow thrusters help take the hassle out of mooring, while large patio doors open onto a spacious aft deck-ideal, for fishing or simply relaxing and enjoying the view.
Negatives: Regal Star has quite a high airdraft and as such, you are excluded from passing under certain bridges like Wroxham. Others such as Ludham Bridge are doable, though you may need to wait a couple of hours for low water if there's been abnormal tidal flows. The saloon could become overly hot in the high summer as the boat doesn't have a sliding wheelhouse, only a sunroof, similar to what you might find in a car. There are a number of steps within this boat's interior, so perhaps not the best craft for those who are physically disabled. On the same theme, the deck sides can be a little high to access depending on where you're moored.
Regal Star dimensions: 9.30m x 3.35m (30ft 6in x 11ft)
