Review of the Norfolk Broads boat Clear Gem
Boat Name Clear Gem
Boatyard Richardsons Boats
Sleeps 6
Positives: A spacious and comfortable cruiser featuring two fixed double cabins and an additional convertible double in the saloon. Steering is from the front, with a sliding sunroof over the saloon for enjoying sunny days, while large picture windows offer excellent views even when closed. The forward well includes seating—perfect for relaxing, fishing, or simply taking in the scenery while cruising. With both forward and rear access points, and internally without steps, this boat is a practical choice for those with reduced mobility.
Negatives: A basic boat showing its age in terms of fittings. The saloon could become overly hot in the high summer. The boat doesn't have a sliding wheelhouse, only a sunroof, similar to what you might find in a car. Be aware that your side view over the reed-fringed banks on forward drive cruisers is limited. This is the trade-off for more headroom at bridges across the Broads.
Clear Gem dimensions: 11.28m x 3.81m (37ft x 12ft 6in)
