March 2026 Newsletter
With Easter just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to start planning your Good Friday and Easter Monday getaway. It marks the first busy spell of the new boating season — when everything is looking its absolute best.
Over the winter, the boatyards have been hard at work refreshing and refurbishing their fleets, so early-season guests get to enjoy cruisers that feel fresh from their makeover. Shore-side, there’s a real sense of anticipation too. Local pubs and restaurants will be going all out to welcome visitors, making it a wonderful time to explore, dine, and unwind along the way.
To help you make the most of your annual leave, I’ve put together a selection of 3-, 4-, and 7-night breaks with start dates designed to stretch your time off that little bit further. Below you’ll find a snapshot of current options, including guide prices for various boat sizes and durations. Take a look and see what appeals — and when you’re ready, you can check wider availability using the public holiday search tool further down the email.

Norfolk Broads Towns and Villages - Acle
|
|
Acle lies around 10 miles inland by river from Yarmouth, a journey which will probably take around 2 hours to cruise, Because of its proximity to the east coast resort, Acle makes a good stopping off point. From here you can time your departure to arrive at the correct time to pass through or to stay at Yarmouth where the tidal conditions often restrict passage through the low bridges which span the river near to the Yacht Station. The tide plays a part at Acle too so approach or leave the moorings with caution and always with the bow (front) of your boat facing into the tidal stream. Moorings are plentiful and available either side of the river before passing under Acle bridge towards Yarmouth as well as outside the Bridge Inn which can be found just past Acle bridge on the right hand side. See our map on the below link for actual locations.
Local Attractions: Acle hosts its own market every first Saturday of the month in the town centre. The Weavers Way Circular Walk from Acle is around 4.5 miles in length and will take around 2 hours to complete. The walk that has it all - fantastic Broadland scenery, a small market town, riverside paths, woodland, an isolated round tower church, and striding out across fields. For more information click HERE
Eating and Drinking: The Bridge Inn - Restaurant and bar food. A very popular establishment with its own moorings. There is a fee of £10 to moor. It's advisable to pre-book especially so if you prefer to eat within the restaurant rather than the general bar area. Children's amusements and outdoor games are available on-site. On the other side of the river, is a catering concession offering hot and cold food and drinks. In Acle town centre: (a 20 minute walk from the moorings). The Kings Head public house is opening as a steak house shortly. Scooters Cafe and a Starbucks. Acle Spice Indian and Full River Chinese Takeaways - both will deliver to boats. Acle Fish and Chip Shop.
Other Services: East of England Co-op, (a medium sized supermarket), Carters Family Butchers, Zen Hair Studio, Doctors surgery, Well Pharmacy, Post Office - all located in the town centre. There is a Travelodge Hotel in the town. Ideal for overnighting before or after your holiday.
TIP: The Bridge Inn is a Norfolk Broads favourite for those wanting to eat out. Book in advance to get a table overlooking the river. You will need to pay a mooring fee at the Bridge Inn.
For more information and mooring locations consult our Acle map
